Learn to take advantage of opportunities to share important life lessons with your children. Our Teachable Moments Guides are divided by age to help you determine the most appropriate information to share with your kids today and in the future.
Ages 4 to 6
This guide accompanies the storybook and offers tips to begin an important dialogue with your young children about safety. Duracell and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children encourage you to use the guide as you engage your children by asking questions and giving “real life” examples that relate back to the scenes in the book.

Ages 7 to 11
Because it also is important to review safety lessons with older children, we've developed this guide for parents and guardians of children ages seven to 11. The guide includes tips and conversation starters for engaging your children in a discussion about safety – in both the real world and on the Internet. We encourage you to use it as you engage in this important dialogue with your children.

Ages 12 to 17
Older children are at equal risk for victimization, so it is important to review safety lessons with them as well. To help you do so, we have developed this guide for parents and guardians of children ages 12-17. The guide includes tips and conversation starters for engaging your children in a discussion about safety – in both the real world and on the Internet.
